Website Fees

What do I get with the management/maintenance fee?

For $100/month we host your website on our secure servers, manage all security patches and updates, provide phone and email support for technical issues, and manage all change requests (new pages, new content, etc.) for you. Just email websites@mycase.com with your request.

What do I get with the setup fee?

For the onetime setup fee of $1,500 we will build out your website on one of our professionally designed layouts with full integration to the MyCase software and a responsive design. We will also set you up with an integrated WordPress blog, social media integration, and essential search engine optimization features. We include custom logo creation, HD photography purchasing, professional content writing, and domain purchasing at no additional cost. *Content writing will only apply to practice area descriptions and a firm overview. All other content, like bios, will need to be provided by you.

When do I pay the $1,500 setup fee and begin paying the $100 monthly fee?

The $1,500 set up fee for the website will be charged to the credit card you have on file with your MyCase account upon the delivery of the initial website design. You will have a fully functional draft of your website when you are charged the setup fee. This way, you are not paying upfront before we do any work! The $100 monthly fee will be added to your regular monthly MyCase bill at this same time, as we will be hosting your preview site on our servers, are offering full support for your site, and can tie it to your domain to launch it at any time.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No! Just like the software subscription to MyCase, the website services are a monthly subscription.


Website Design

How long will it take to build the website?

After the initial kick-off call and when you have provided us with the necessary content, you can expect to get your Preview Site delivered within 10 days and launched within about 4 weeks on average. We may have periods of high volume or holiday seasons where it may take longer, we will communicate this upfront if we are experiencing implementation times longer than 4 weeks.

What if I don’t like the design?

We’ll work with you to get to a point where you are happy with the website. We will need to work within the framework of one of our custom layout designs that you should be familiar with before signing up, but we can adjust your colors, images, content, widgets, etc. to get the right look for you.

How many pages can my website have?

Your website can have an unlimited number of pages or blog posts, with no additional fees or limits.

Can you work on an existing site I already have or integrate my existing website with MyCase?

No, MyCase only builds websites on our platform and does not offer services for existing websites. We also do not offer any sort of API for the client portal integration into other websites. This would only be available on a MyCase website.

Can I use my own domain name?

Absolutely. Once your site is ready to launch and has been tested and approved by you, we will switch it over to your domain name. If you don’t have a domain name, we can purchase and manage one for you.

Can you set up my @mydomain.com email address?

Yes. While we do not offer our own email services, if we have purchased and manage your domain for you, we are happy to help you set up the MX records necessary for your @mydomain.com email address. If you have your own domain that you manage, you should be able to set up an email at that domain as well.


Website Features

Can I blog with my website?

Absolutely! During the launch of your website, we will create an account for you to login and post directly on your website.

Can I receive payments from clients through the website?

If you are set up on the MyCase payments platform, your clients can login and pay invoices directly on your website through the integrated client portal. If you use another payment platform, you can provide a link that we can put on the website for clients to go to. Click here to learn more about the MyCase Payments Platform.

What if I need my website in more than one language?

We can update the body of each page in another language free of charge, but you will need to provide us with all of the content for the translation. If you want the entire website in another language, this would require an additional setup fee and monthly charge. Contact sales@mycase.com to learn more.

Can I have an SSL Certificate?

Yes! When your new MyCase Website is completed and launched, we will install an SSL certificate on your site to ensure that all traffic is encrypted and the entire site is safe and secure.


Website Maintenance

How hard is it for me to add/edit content?

Very easy! Just email a request to websites@mycase.com and our team of website specialists will handle your request so you don’t have to spend any time on it.

I want to be able to make changes to my website and let my marketing person access the website. Will I have admin capabilities?

Part of the $100 monthly fee is that the MyCase team will handle all of your website changes and support, with no additional charges. Because our team is here to handle your requests quickly and efficiently, we do not currently offer any admin accounts to customers or other service providers they might use.

What happens if I want to leave MyCase? Do I own the site?

You own all of the content on your website, including anything that MyCase has created or purchased for you (logo, images, web copy, etc.). Because the websites are built on our custom platform with the integration to the software, MyCase retains ownership of the custom template designs. We will provide you all of your website content so that you can move it to a different platform.


Search Engine Optimization

What sort of SEO does MyCase offer?

We build your site using essential on-page search engine optimization (SEO) fundamentals. Specifically, each page on your website is optimized with a unique URL, page title & description of a designated length, ensuring we use keywords that are relevant to your practice, including the firm’s name, locale, cities/counties served, and practice areas. If you have opted to use our writing team, the content generated for your website will also include these keywords amongst the written content, to ensure they are accessible to both search engines and people reading through.

Other SEO best practices that we complete before the launch of your site include adding title tags to each page with both headings & subheadings, internal linking of pages with anchor text where applicable, as well as alternative text (alt-text) and descriptive file names for all images.

During the final stage of launching your site, we also complete a number of steps to ensure your site can be found by search engines. These include generating an XML sitemap so search engines have a map of where the pages on your site link to, verification of your domain and website through the major search engines and requested indexing of your site through the major search engines. It is important to note that indexing of your site through search engines is an ongoing process that takes time, especially if your domain is brand new, so it can take a few months to be found on Google.

Is there a more advanced SEO package I can purchase?

We do not currently offer any advanced SEO or marketing packages, but you can always run your own web advertising or other marketing campaigns in parallel with the website.

Can my SEO manager access the website?

We do not provide admin access to the website outside of MyCase, so if you do have another agency you work with, they will need to request changes to the website by contacting our website team, as they will not be able to edit it directly.

Will my site be on the first page of Google?

If only it were that simple! While all MyCase sites are built with SEO fundamentals in mind, ultimately your Google ranking will depend on many factors. How competitive is the local market for your services? How competitive is your geographic region? How often are you adding content? How old is your domain? How much time, effort, and money are you putting into blogging, content generation, and internet marketing?

After a few months of your site being live, you can expect to be on the first page of Google results when somebody is searching for your firm (unless your name is very common), but getting on the first page for a practice area or a region depends on many factors.

Why would I want to rebuild my website?

If you have an existing MyCase Website that you’re looking to overhaul, we have recently introduced a number of newly updated website themes. We can bring across your existing content and images onto one of these news themes with a variety of fully responsive, fresh and modern designs – all built exclusively for law firms. How much does the rebuild cost?

There is a one time setup fee of $1,500, charged upon presentation of the website draft. There will be no change to the recurring monthly fee you are already paying per website. For the onetime setup fee of $1,500, we will build out your website on one of our professionally designed layouts with full integration to the MyCase software and a responsive design. We will also set you up with an integrated WordPress blog, social media integration, and essential search engine optimization features. We include custom logo creation, HD photography purchasing, professional content writing, and domain purchasing at no additional cost.

How long will the rebuild take?

We aim to launch your additional site within 20 days of our initial ‘kick-off call’ where we will discuss the specifics of your new site design and gather any essential items.

Can I change my domain name?

Yes, we can include the purchase of one new domain name, but we recommend you keep the same domain name for SEO reasons. Your current domain has a history and ranking associated with it, so using a new domain name will cause your website to lose any ranking previously established.

If you own additional domains, we can assist in redirecting them to your main website.

Will my website be SEO friendly?

Just like your original website, we complete essential Search Engine Optimization fundamentals for each page on your site, including keywords, page titles, image alternative text, integrated blog, social media integration, XML sitemap, and verification with the major search engines.

For more advanced SEO, we are happy to work with an outside SEO/SEM agency of your choice and implement necessary changes to your site.

Will you be redesigning my logo too?

Yes, logo creation and redesigns are included in the one time set up fee for a website rebuild.
